NoMads is the abbreviation for * No Mercy Agility Dudes, Dames and Dogs *.
We are referring to our ‘no mercy’ style of constructive criticism when helping
each other out in all of our training venues!
The NoMads include Top Ten Breed conformation, agility, herding and obedience dogs.
The NoMads are a very active group of dog fanciers located in and around the central Texas area about 70 miles north of San Antonio. We are heavily involved in community activities, including obedience and conformation classes, volunteer work for the Humane Society of Kerrville, therapy dog programs at local nursing homes, dog rescue, programs (currently at two different grammar schools) where children read books to our dogs, and most recently a 4H dog agility program! We also contribute regularly to local charities – including the new Sid Peterson Hospital Building Fund, Utopia Animal Rescue and the new City of Fredericksburg Animal Shelter Building Fund – via various fundraisers, such as hosting Cesar Millan of the National Geographic Channel’s “Dog Whisperer” fame and America’s favorite cowboy singing group – Riders in the Sky!
Several of us have more than 30 years experience each in the ‘dog world’, which
includes not only competition, but forming and maintaining dog clubs, hosting dog
events, and judging. Some of us have hosted National Specialties for our breed.
Several of us are officers in various clubs which host dog events, as well. As a group,
we have hosted dog agility seminars and may apply to host licensed agility trials in the
future, since dog agility is our primary focus.
The NoMads are very supportive of each other and work very well together as a group. It’s all about having fun in pursuit of our passion – dogs and their sports!

In March 2006 at Kerrville, Texas, the NoMads hosted a Caesar Millan Seminar to
raise money for animal rescue.

In May 2007 the NoMads hosted a concert by multiple Grammy-award-winning Riders in the Sky,
America’s favorite cowboy singers, as a fundraiser for the new City of Fredericksburg Animal
Shelter Building Fund. On top of having a great time, they were able to give a $3000 check
to this cause.
